Poem- Goodbye

Goodbye- such a simple word,

From departing people we heard

Sometimes we bid it too,

To the ones we loved.

It’s not easy to say it,

Nor is it easy to hear,

For it makes us reminisce,

All the times we are going to miss.

But this is how it is,

Beginnings come to an end;

And goodbye is the letter,

We all are to send.

But goodbyes are a bridge

To a life anew,

Goodbyes are a joy to behold,

For the times that flew;

So let’s not say it with tears

But with smiles;

For a goodbye ties us to memories

Far away miles.

This a poem I wrote today. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

For the time being,

Thoughts during the weekend

A nice picture to begin the post

Hi there! How are all of you? Mine was a hectic week.

But here I am, all ready to talk. And there’s this one thought that occurs from time to time.

Do you ever just sit down and think about…….. How unique you are?

Like there are many things that only you can do. And you do them your way. You behave, act, think and make your life which might seem similar to other people’s,but is very different in reality.

Doesn’t it astound you? If you think about it carefully, you may find that you are very different from others, that you have different opinions from them. Yet again, you agree with them, thinking it’s the best idea to do so. That is why we have large crowds of people supporting something vehemently but when you ask their reason they won’t have to give any.

Think about it, and do tell me your views.

Something about a quote

Hello everyone.

I was going through my ‘Read’ list on goodreads and realised that I’ve read quite a number of books. And what do we collect from books? Millions of words strung into beautiful and meaningful quotes to make lives easier.

I like reading quotes and re-reading them to emphasize upon their meaning. I just love the way simple words arranged together radiate so much wisdom!

Here are some favourite quotes of mine:

The truth is rarely pure and never simple.

Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest

How long is forever?

Sometimes, just one second.

Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

All the world’s a stage,

And all the men and women merely players.

William Shakespeare, As you like it

Don’t you wonder sometimes, what might happen if you tried?

– Kazuo Ishiguro, Never let me go

Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read.

One does not love breathing.

– Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to our enemies but just as much to stand up to our friends.

J.K Rowling, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.

I am an Ephemerist.

I am an Ephemerist.

Life is a hobby!

I have recently developed a new hobby or, interest. But what’s life without an interest?

It’s related to collection of paper objects,or better put ‘ephemera’. Looking into the dictionary I found the exact definition as “things that are important or useful for only a short time : items that were not meant to have lasting value

In my collection of ephemera though, I have only bookmarks, I haven’t collected really short-lived items like tickets or letters(because who writes letters now?) but there are no terms to describe bookmark collection other than the generalised term called ephemera.

I’ve collected many bookmarks, handmade and unique and my next post will be entirely dedicated to them!

Do you have any hobbies? How do you pursue them? I’d like to know.
